The Swiss Flute Society was renamed for the 10th anniversary of the Golden Flute Classic festival (formerly La Côte Flute Festival). As the event gained national and international significance, it was only natural for the association leading it to become the Swiss Flute Society, especially since no such society had existed in Switzerland since the 1980s.

The Golden Flute Classic festival will now take place in various linguistic regions of Switzerland, and the society will also bring flutists together through other initiatives.
