FAQ FLUTE FUTURES

Is participation free, and do I need to cover any costs myself?

Yes, participation is fully funded through the Erasmus+ programme. Travel, accommodation, meals, and participation costs are covered. Participants do not need to finance their participation with personal funds.

Please note that any personal expenses (such as optional leisure activities, souvenirs, or additional costs not included in the programme) are not covered.

What is the deadline to apply?

The deadline to submit your application is May 1st, 2026.

What are the participating countries?

Flute Futures is implemented in partnership with organisations based in the following countries: Austria • Denmark • France • Germany • Norway • Spain • Sweden

If you are not connected to one of these countries through citizenship or current activity/residence, you are unfortunately not eligible to apply.

Can I apply if I am a citizen of a partner country but not currently living or active there?

Yes. If you are a citizen of a partner country, you can apply even if you are not currently living there.

If selected, you will take part in the programme as part of that country’s national group, and it is required to travel from the participating country together with the rest of your group. You will also participate with this group throughout the project.

Can I apply through a partner country if I am not a citizen of that country?

Yes. You can apply through a partner country even if you are not a citizen of that country.

However, you must be currently living and active in that country (e.g. studying, working, or involved in musical activities) at the time of application. If selected, you will join and travel with that country’s national group.

Can I apply if my level of English is low?

Yes, you can still apply. A good level of English is helpful but not required to take part in the project.

Translation and language support will be provided before, during, and after the event to ensure that all participants can fully engage in the activities. The focus of the project is on musical exchange, collaboration, and learning, and support will be available throughout the programme.

Do I need to register with Erasmus+ or complete any administrative procedures before applying?

No, you do not need an Erasmus+ ID or complete any administrative steps to apply. You simply need to fill in the Open Call application form.

If you are selected, you will receive further information about any administrative requirements for your participation.

What does my participation include?

Your participation includes 7 days of activities in Aarhus with a group of 42 selected participants from across Europe. The programme includes workshops, lectures, rehearsals, and collaborative activities.

This includes a participation in the Danish Flute Festival, with free access to all events as a listener.

What do I need to do or prepare before the event?

Before the event, selected participants will take part in a preparation phase coordinated by their national partner organisation. This will include online  meetings, practical information sessions, and artistic or group preparation activities.

Participants will also need to ensure they are available for the full duration of the programme, complete any requested travel or personal information forms, and prepare for active participation in workshops, rehearsals, and collaborative activities.

What will happen after the event? Do I have to do anything more?

After the event, participants will be invited to take part in a short feedback and evaluation process, which is part of the Erasmus+ programme requirements. This may include completing an online questionnaire and sharing their experience.

No additional artistic or administrative obligations are required beyond this evaluation, unless specifically agreed with your national partner organisation.

What is the programme of the Danish Flute Festival?
