The Swiss Flute Society was renamed for the 10th anniversary of the Golden Flute Classic festival in 2024 (formerly La Côte Flute Festival). As the event gained national and international significance, it was only natural for the association leading it to become the Swiss Flute Society, especially since no such society had existed in Switzerland since the 1980s.

The members of the Swiss flute society are individuals as well as collectives such as ensembles, other associations, schools and businesses active in Switzerland.

The Golden Flute Classic festival is its flagevent, taking place every 3 years.
