DESCRIPTION:KYIV FLUTE DAYS 2026 \n\n\n\n\n\nIII International Competition of Young Performers on the Flute (Ukrainian Flute Society)\n\n\n\nFestival dates: April 17–20\, 2026Competition dates: April 18–19\, 2026Location: Kyiv\, Ukraine \n\n\n\nThe Ukrainian flute community will once again gather in Kyiv for KYIV FLUTE DAYS 2026 — a four-day festival celebrating performance\, education\, and artistic exchange. At the center of the festival is the III International Competition of Young Performers on the Flute\, created to identify and support gifted young musicians and to promote Ukrainian flute performance and repertoire. \n\n\n\nFestival Program Highlights\n\n\n\n\nCompetition of young performers\n\n\n\nConcerts\n\n\n\nMasterclasses\n\n\n\nSeminar-practicum for teachers\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFree access: All competition participants and their accompanying persons may attend festival events (concerts and masterclasses) free of charge. \n\n\n\nCompetition Formats\n\n\n\nLive Performance (2 rounds)\n\n\n\n\nRound I: Video audition of one selected work from the competition program (participant’s choice).\n\n\n\nRound II: Full competition program performed live in Kyiv.\n\n\n\n\nDistance Performance (1 round)\n\n\n\n\nVideo audition of the full competition program.\n\n\n\n\nAge Categories\n\n\n\n\n“Debut” — up to 11 years old (performance up to 5 minutes)\n\n\n\nA — 12–13 years old (performance up to 10 minutes)\n\n\n\nB — 14–15 years old (students of music/art schools; specialized music lyceums up to grade 8) (performance up to 10 minutes)\n\n\n\nC — 16+ (music/art schools; grades 9–11 specialized music lyceums; professional music college students) (performance up to 15 minutes)\n\n\n\nD — higher education students (performance up to 15 minutes)\n\n\n\n\nParticipants may enter a higher age category than their age would normally allow\, but not a lower one. Each participant may compete in only one age category. \n\n\n\nProgram Requirements\n\n\n\n\nDebut: Free program.\n\n\n\nA\, B\, C\, D: Free program\, but must include at least two works\, one of which must be by a Ukrainian composer.\n\n\n\nPrograms (entirely or individual works) may be performed with sheet music.\n\n\n\nParticipants may perform a shorter program than the maximum time allowed.\n\n\n\nThe jury reserves the right to shorten auditions.\n\n\n\n\nAwards & Opportunities\n\n\n\n\nAll participants will receive participant certificates.\n\n\n\nWinners will receive laureate diplomas indicating the age category and participation format.\n\n\n\nDiplomas will include the participant’s teacher and accompanist.\n\n\n\nLaureates will be invited to perform in future events of the Ukrainian Flute Society.\n\n\n\nCertificates and diplomas will be sent in electronic format.\n\n\n\n\nWinners will be announced at the Closing Festival Concert and published on the official Ukrainian Flute Society page. \n\n\n\nKey Dates\n\n\n\n\nRegistration deadline: April 5\, 2026\n\n\n\nRound I results (Live format): within 3 calendar days after receiving the application (notification by email)\n\n\n\nLive Round II auditions:\n\nApril 18\, 2026 — Debut\, A\, B\n\n\n\nApril 19\, 2026 — C\, D\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration & Required Materials\n\n\n\nTo participate\, applicants must submit the Google registration form including a YouTube video link and required attachments: \n\n\n\n\nPhoto/scan of confirmation from a music educational institution (for categories B\, C\, D)\n\n\n\nPhoto/scan of registration fee payment receipt (for Distance Performance participants)\n\n\n\n\nRegistration confirmation will be sent by the organizing committee to the email address provided by the participant. \n\n\n\nImportant Regulations\n\n\n\n\nThe competition is open to participants from Ukraine and other countries\, except those that carry out or support military aggression against Ukraine.\n\n\n\nThe competition does not provide an accompanist.\n\n\n\nBy registering\, participants confirm consent for the organizers to use photo and video materials free of charge.\n\n\n\nWithdrawal from participation does not entitle the participant to a refund of the registration fee.\n\n\n\nJury decisions are final and not subject to appeal.\n\n\n\nIn case of force majeure\, the competition and other festival events may take place online.\n\n\n\n\nArtistic Continuity\n\n\n\nKYIV FLUTE DAYS continues to stand as a symbol of artistic resilience and cultural continuity.
